Air travelers to Jackson Hole have the great privilege of landing inside Grand Teton National Park. Unfortunately, the area’s original airport did not live up to its noble surroundings. Using Federal Infrastructure funds, the airport wanted to expand and renovate its existing structure while working within the constraints of the park.  Aware of this responsibility, the design team nearly doubled the terminal’s size while maintaining the 17-foot height limit and minimizing any additional site impact. In fact, design upgrades (completed over two phases) decreased the site’s energy and water use so dramatically that the airport was awarded LEED Silver Certification, a rare feat for a U.S. airport.

"The Jackson Hole Airport distinguishes itself from typical airports with its regional design approach, intimate scale and breathtaking surroundings. "
